
Guwahati, 10 January (HS): Crossing the landmark of one lakh government jobs, the Assam government is steadily moving towards a record number of appointments in the state. In a ceremonial programme on Saturday at the Arjun Bhogeswar Barua Sports Complex, Sarusajai, Guwahati, appointment letters to be formally distributed by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to 6,347 Grade-III candidates who successfully cleared the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination.
Apart from Grade-III appointments, another distribution programme has been scheduled for January 12 at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital auditorium. On that occasion, appointment letters will be handed over to 292 candidates from the tea tribe community who qualified through the ADR process.
With the completion of the ongoing recruitment process, the total number of candidates appointed to government jobs in Assam will rise to 1,56,677, marking a significant milestone in the state’s employment drive.
Earlier, on Friday, appointment letters were distributed among 4,374 Grade-IV candidates at the newly constructed Jyoti-Bishnu International Cultural Auditorium at Khanapara, Guwahati. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma was present at the programme and congratulated the newly appointed employees.
