
Mumbai, 10 Jan (HS): Maharashtra Chief Minister
Devendra Fadnavis expressed confidence that the mayor in all the municipal
corporations will be of Bharatiya Janata Party-led mega alliance. He was
addressing an election campaign in Mumbai on Saturday. Elections in 29
municipal corporations in Maharashtra is scheduled on January 15.
Development is the main issue for all the municipal
elections. The alliance has prepared a concrete plan for resolving problems of
the urban people under its ‘Ease of Doing’ policy, which has facilitated the
developmental works at a faster pace. He referred to the Matro Project which is
about 400 kms.
Besides improving suburban rail, planning train
frequency, expansion of Western and Express Highway, Worli-Shivdi connecter and
Warsowa-Virar Coastal Road have been planned to prevent traffic congestions, he
said.

Thackeray was not born in Mumbai: Referring to Raj
Thackeray’s remarks, Fadnavis said even Shiv Sena Founder Balasaheb Thackeray
was not born in Mumbai. Fadnavis said that he was not born in Mumbai, but
Mumbai is my ‘Karmabhoomi’ (Place of work) since 1999. Balasaheb knew Mumbai
very well. But what Raj and Uddhav Thackeray did form Mumbai and Marathi
people? he asked. Neither Balasaheb nor his father Prabodhankar Thackeray were
born in Mumbai, but Balasaheb contribution for Mumbai and Marathi people was
significant, he added.
