Railways to Run Special Trains for Upcoming Festival Season

New Delhi, September 8 (HS): To ease passenger travel during the upcoming festive season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of special trains on select high-demand routes. The services will run between Pune–Hazrat Nizamuddin and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)–Gorakhpur, providing additional capacity during the rush period.

According to Northern Railway, Train No. 01491/01492 Pune–Hazrat Nizamuddin Festival Special will operate on a weekly basis from September 26 to November 29. The train will depart every Friday from Pune and every Saturday from Hazrat Nizamuddin. En route, it will halt at major stations including Lonavala, Kalyan, Bhiwandi Road, Vasai Road, Palghar, Vapi, Valsad, Udhna Junction, Vadodara, Ratlam, Shamgarh, Bhawani Mandi, Ramganj Mandi, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, and Mathura.

Similarly, Train No. 01079/01080 CSMT–Gorakhpur Festival Special will run daily from September 26 to December 2. The service will depart Mumbai at 10:30 pm and arrive in Gorakhpur at 10:00 am the next day. On the return journey, the train will leave Gorakhpur at 2:30 pm and reach Mumbai in the early hours of the third day. Major halts will include Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Nashik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Bhopal, Bina, Jhansi, Orai, Kanpur, Lucknow, Gonda, Basti, and Khalilabad.

Both trains will feature air-conditioned, sleeper, and general class coaches to accommodate passengers comfortably during the festive rush.
