Delhi, 8 September (H.S.): In a landmark event held in New Delhi on Monday(September 8, 2025) President Droupadi Murmu, graced the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) India, underscoring the nation's rich heritage in trade and knowledge. Addressing the distinguished gathering, President Murmu emphasized the imperative of reinstating India as a preeminent hub of innovation and economic prowess, urging all stakeholders to embrace this vision with unwavering resolve.

Reflecting on India’s historical eminence, the President recalled how the country once led the world both spiritually and commercially. She called upon EEPC and its partners to channel their efforts towards reclaiming this legacy by fostering knowledge-driven trade and innovation. Highlighting remarkable progress, she noted that India's engineering exports have surged from 70 billion to over 115 billion US dollars in the past decade—a feat achieved despite numerous global trade challenges—praising EEPC’s instrumental role in this success.

President Murmu portrayed EEPC as a critical conduit linking Indian producers with global markets, and stressed its expanding significance amid shifting international trade and economic orders. She encouraged EEPC to leverage India’s vast capabilities and transform global trade challenges into avenues for growth, underscoring the evolving landscape of India’s export destinations over seventy years.

Drawing attention to India’s competitive advantages, she affirmed the country’s strength in delivering high-quality, cost-effective engineering products and services, further evidenced by the presence of Global Capability Centres of major multinational corporations in India. The President enjoined EEPC stakeholders to foster an enabling ecosystem that incentivizes innovation and leverages the abundant talent and energy of the nation.

Concluding her address, President Murmu urged all involved to pledge their commitment towards propelling India to the forefront of the world’s innovation economies—recognized as the most competitive and prosperous nations—thus ensuring sustained economic vigor under the guiding spirit of 'Nation First.'
