Delhi, 8 September (H.S.):
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) convened in a pivotal meeting in New Delhi today on Monday, bringing together Members of Parliament from across the alliance to demonstrate solidarity and rally support for their Vice Presidential candidate, Thiru C.P. Radhakrishnan. The gathering, held at the Parliament complex, was marked by enthusiastic participation and a strong show of unity as MPs expressed their confidence in Radhakrishnan’s capability to enrich the Vice President’s office with his extensive wisdom and insights.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi played a crucial role in this assembly, addressing the MPs and underscoring the importance of collective effort and dedication in the lead-up to the Vice Presidential election scheduled for September 9, 2025. The two-day BJP MPs workshop, which began prior to the NDA meeting, featured the Prime Minister seated among the parliamentarians symbolizing the egalitarian ethos of the party.PM Modi emphasized the need for leaders to engage closely with their constituents, highlighting innovative governance strategies and adherence to organizational discipline.
Radhakrishnan’s candidature has ignited widespread enthusiasm across the NDA family, with political leaders lauding his experienced background, which includes his tenure as Governor of Maharashtra and longstanding association with the RSS and BJP. The NDA is poised to strongly back him against the opposition’s candidate, B. Sudershan Reddy, a former Supreme Court judge, in what is considered a defining electoral contest.
The meeting also witnessed strategic discussions on the electoral process, including mock sessions to familiarize MPs with the voting procedures for the Vice Presidential elections. The NDA’s clear majority in both houses of Parliament has positioned Radhakrishnan as the front-runner to succeed Jagdeep Dhankhar, who resigned earlier citing health reasons.
This gathering is seen not only as a decisive step toward the election but also as a demonstration of NDA’s organizational strength and political coherence, reinforcing their commitment to securing a decisive victory for their candidate.
