Leader of Opposition and former Himachal Chief Minister Jairam Thakur welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit. Expressing gratitude, he said, “We are thankful to Prime Minister Modi for taking time out from his packed schedule to reach out to the people of Himachal at this critical juncture. The state has suffered immense loss of life and property due to relentless monsoon rains. His presence will bring much-needed reassurance to the people.”
Thakur further added that the Prime Minister’s visit would not only help in assessing the current crisis but also in formulating stronger strategies to confront similar challenges in the future. He remarked, “The years 2023, 2024, and 2025 have witnessed unparalleled destruction, with damages worth thousands of crores. Tomorrow, we will place the hardships of Himachal’s people directly before the Prime Minister.”
