Guwahati, 08 September (HS): To mark the centenary birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, the Assam State Film (Finance & Development) Corporation Ltd., in association with the Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Assam, organized a special event at Aideo Cinema Hall in Guwahati.

On the occasion, Assam Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah launched the Gamaka Box Notation System for music classes in Adarsha Vidyalayas across the state. The initiative is aimed at strengthening music education among young students and preserving Assam’s rich cultural heritage.

In addition, subsidies were distributed to the producers of 19 full-fledged Assamese films, giving a boost to the state’s film industry.

Minister Borah said the event not only celebrated the legacy of Dr. Hazarika but also reflected the government’s commitment to nurturing art, culture, and cinema in Assam.
