08 Sept (HS): In Thana Phase-3, the sub-inspector has filed a report that five
people cheated a woman and forcibly converted her religion. The woman is
married, and she has a 6-year-old son. A man converted the woman's religion
without divorce and married her. After registering the report of the incident,
the police is investigating the matter. Dhruv Bhushan Dubey,
Inspector-in-Charge of Thana Phase-3, said that Priya Sharma, wife of Shivam
Sharma from Gadhi Chaukhandi village, went missing in the month of May.
The
police was searching for her in this case. Her husband had filed a writ in the
High Court to recover his wife. Its investigation was being done by Yogendra
Singh, in-charge of Gadhi Chaukhandi outpost. He said that during the
investigation, the police recovered Priya from Chennai (Tamil Nadu). He said
that during the investigation, the police came to know that Raja alias Ehsan
son of Bismillah Mian, a native of Siwan district Bihar, currently resident of
Rahul's house in Bahrampur village, trapped Priya in his love-web and took her
away from home. He told that when the recovered woman was questioned, she told
that I have changed my religion.
And I have become Muslim from Hindu. I am
gaining knowledge of Sharia law. The woman told the police that I have married
Raja Mian alias Mohammad Ahsan who used to work in my company on 1 May 2025 in
Bahrampur village. Raja Mian is teaching me everything. He told that when the
photocopy of Nikah Nama was obtained from Priya Sharma, on observation it was
found that Raja Mian's father Bismillah Mian, mother Anisha Begum, and brother
Irshad, using deceitful means, by luring and threatening, changed Priya
Sharma's name and religion and named her Khushboo Khatoon. Priya Sharma's
father's name was also written fraudulently. The accused Raja Mian also got his
mother Anisha Begum and brother undergo conversion rituals, who appeared as
Priya Sharma's brother and aunt respectibvely. During investigation, the police
found that the Nikah was done fraudulently.
The woman Priya Sharma is not even
divorced from her husband Shivam Sharma. Priya Sharma also has a 6-year-old
son. He said that on the complaint of the sub-inspector, the police has started
investigation by registering a case against Raja Mian, Irshad, Bismillah,
Anisha Begum and Qazi Mohammad Azimuddin under Section 318 (4) of the Indian
Penal Code, Section 3 and 5 (1) of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful
Religious Conversion Act 2021.
