New Delhi, September 8(HS): Under the leadership of Deputy Mayor Jai Bhagwan Yadav, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi launched a large-scale cleanliness campaign on Monday in Rohini Sector-24, covering areas from the local drain up to the helipad. As part of the ongoing “Freedom from Garbage” initiative, the Deputy Mayor urged citizens to actively support MCD’s efforts to keep the capital city clean and healthy.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav emphasized that the campaign—initiated under the guidance of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta—focuses on sanitation, waste management, green initiatives, and widespread public awareness.
He highlighted that cleanliness is not solely the responsibility of the government or the civic body, but a collective duty of every citizen. “Together, we must pledge to build a clean, healthy, and beautiful Delhi,” he said, adding that MCD employees are working tirelessly to ensure visible improvements in sanitation across the city.
Yadav further stressed that the corporation’s ultimate goal is to make Delhi clean, green, and garbage-free. Calling the initiative a mass movement, he appealed for active community participation. The campaign will continue until October 2, with further programs to sustain public awareness and engagement. “Delhi will only remain clean if we keep our homes, lanes, and neighborhoods clean,” he remarked.
The event was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar, local MCD officials, and residents of the area.
