Nainital, September 8(HS): A controversy erupted during the broadcast of the historic Nanda Devi Festival when objectionable pro-Pakistan slogans suddenly appeared on the television screen. The unexpected incident has raised serious questions about cyber security, prompting local authorities to tighten precautionary measures and prepare for an official police complaint.
According to reports, during the rebroadcast of the festival, the text “Operation Bunyan al-Marsous, Pakistan Zindabad” suddenly flashed on the screen. Channel head and president of Tallital Vyapar Mandal, Maruti Nandan Sah, immediately informed Senior Superintendent of Police Prahlad Narayan Meena. Following this, City Circle Officer Sumit Pandey suggested urgent technical remedies, after which the objectionable slogans were removed and security protocols reinforced.
Sah explained that unidentified perpetrators had superimposed coded filters over the broadcast feed, inserting the provocative slogans. These were subsequently neutralized. He added that preparations are underway to lodge a formal complaint, with demands for the strictest possible action if those responsible are found operating within India.
What is ‘Operation Bunyan al-Marsous’?
Officials revealed that the term “Bunyan al-Marsous” appeared in direct reference to Pakistan’s counter-narrative against Indian military initiatives, such as “Operation Sindoor” targeting terrorist hideouts. The Arabic phrase literally means “a solid foundation bound with lead,” suggesting impenetrable strength. However, the deeper intent behind Pakistan’s use of the terminology remains unclear, fueling speculation about its strategic narrative.
