Chennai, 8 September (H.S.) : The Chennai Airport Plaza project is rapidly gaining momentum as the Airports Authority of India works towards meeting the October deadline. After facing a delay of about a year, construction is now in full swing.
The project involves building a multi-level car parking facility with commercial spaces, which will significantly enhance the airport's infrastructure. Spanning 17,230 square meters of land, the project is divided into two parcels near the Airport Metro Station.
Upon completion, the plaza will accommodate 2,000 equivalent car parking spaces, providing ample parking facilities for travelers. The modern design of the structure features dramatic, twin wing-like hovering roofs, offering column-free spaces.
The Chennai Airport Plaza project is expected to elevate the overall airport experience for passengers. Meanwhile, plans for a new greenfield airport at Parandur are underway to cater to the growing demand, as the existing airport is expected to reach saturation by 2035.
