Bhubaneswar, 8 September (H.S.): To mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its youth wing, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), have announced a series of programmes under Seva Pakhwada across the country. The initiatives include plantation drives, health camps, blood donation camps, and various other social welfare activities.
Addressing a press conference at the party office on Monday, BJYM State President Abhilash Panda announced that as part of the celebrations, a state-level “Modi Yuva Marathon” will be held in Bhubaneswar on September 21. The marathon will begin at 6:15 am from Kalinga Stadium and conclude at Janata Maidan, with participation expected from more than 10,000 youths.
Panda highlighted that a large section of today’s youth is falling prey to substance abuse and losing direction. Through the marathon, the BJYM aims to spread the message of a drug-free India and promote a disciplined lifestyle. Similar marathons are being organised at 75 locations across the country under the Seva Pakhwada initiative.
The nationwide campaign was launched on September 7, with Union Minister of Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya, BJYM National President Tejasvi Surya, and fitness icon Milind Soman flagging off the programme.
Panda urged youths and people from all walks of life to participate actively in the marathon to make it a grand success.
Among those present at the press meet were BJYM State General Secretary Subrat Biswal, Manas Kumar Sahu, and State Convenor Chandi Prasad Behera.
