More than 100 mobile phones and gold chains were stolen during the Lalbagcha
Raja Ganesh Visarjan procession in Mumbai. The procession from Mumbai’s Lalbag took
about 35 hours to reach Girgaon Choupati.
According to police,
more than 100 complaints of mobile theft have been received. Four people were
arrested, and four mobile phone sets were recovered. Seven offences relating to
chain snatching have been registered. Twelve people were arrested and two
chains were recovered. Bhoiwada police have also registered offences relating
to unauthorised use of drones during the procession.
