Chennai, 7 September (H.S.) : Tamil Nadu observed its first Police Day on September 6, 2025, with statewide events. The day aims to reinforce duty, honor, and service among police personnel. Police personnel took part in pledge ceremonies to reaffirm their commitment to their duties.

The police paid homage to martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The event also included public outreach programs to engage with citizens and promote community policing. These initiatives highlight the importance of building trust and cooperation between the police and the public.

The Tamil Nadu Police, established over 150 years ago, is one of the oldest and largest state police forces in India. The Police Day celebrations serve as an opportunity to recognize the efforts and sacrifices of police personnel in maintaining law and order in the state.
