Bhubaneswar, 7 September (H.S.): The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) will now be conducted under a revamped framework modeled on the examination systems of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The move comes in response to recent disruptions in the exam process, prompting authorities to adopt more robust and time-tested methods.
The rescheduled OTET is set for September 27. Speaking to the media, Board of Secondary Education (BSE) President Srikant Tarai emphasized that the new framework will prioritize strong security and transparent management. Question papers will be dispatched in sealed trunks and boxes under police escort to ensure safety. District Collectors, Superintendents of Police, and District Education Officers have been tasked with directly supervising the smooth conduct of the examination.
According to Tarai, the test will be conducted at 193 designated centres across the state. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards from September 17 to 27. While the exam will follow the same pattern and use the same centres as previously announced, additional safeguards are being implemented to prevent irregularities.
Highlighting the heightened monitoring, Tarai said vigilance will extend not only to candidates but also to officials and staff engaged in exam management. The BSE has assured aspirants that every step has been taken to ensure a fair and transparent process this year.
