Chennai, 7 September (H.S.) : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin hailed the Tamil diaspora as unofficial ambassadors of Tamil Nadu at the NRTIA UK Summit 2025 in London. He emphasized their vital role in bridging the state and the world, urging them to contribute actively to Tamil Nadu's progress. Stalin requested the diaspora to stay connected with their homeland by visiting at least once a year, investing in projects, and creating opportunities for young people in Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of preserving Tamil identity and culture, highlighting government initiatives for Non-Resident Tamils. These include a welfare board, toll-free helpline, revolving fund for diaspora organizations, insurance schemes, and the Vergalai Thedi Thittam to help younger generations trace their ancestral roots. Stalin thanked the community for their warmth during his overseas visit.
Stalin's address emphasized the significance of unity and cooperation among the Tamil diaspora. He recalled unveiling the portrait of Periyar at Oxford University, calling it a proud moment for Tamils everywhere. The Chief Minister's European tour, which included investor meetings and academic engagements, underscores Tamil Nadu's growing global influence.
