Kolkata, 5 September (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her greetings on Teachers’ Day, paying tribute to India’s second President and renowned philosopher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. She conveyed her wishes to teachers, professors, and all education professionals, acknowledging their unmatched contribution in shaping future generations.
In her message, Banerjee described teachers as the “real craftsmen” who illuminate young minds with the light of knowledge and values. She emphasized that the role of teachers in society is irreplaceable and deserves the highest respect.
The Chief Minister informed that the state government organized Teachers’ Day with full dignity and honor. On this occasion, select teachers from various schools and industrial training institutes were conferred with the ‘Shiksharatna’ award. Outstanding schools across the state were also felicitated for their performance.
Alongside, meritorious students who excelled in this year’s Madhyamik, Higher Secondary, Joint Entrance, Alim, Fazil, High Madrasa, ICSE, ISC, CBSE, and vocational examinations were also honored during the event.
Concluding her message, Banerjee once again extended warm wishes to all teachers and students, remarking that education is the power that provides society with new direction and energy.
