Chirang, 03 September (HS): With the upcoming BTC elections around the corner, election campaigns of every political party are gaining momentum. BTC Chief Pramod Boro has reacted to the current political scenario and expressed confidence in his party’s prospects.

Boro stated that as a party, UPPL is fully prepared. “We have fielded candidates in 40 constituencies and our candidates will show good results as people are extending overwhelming support,” he said.

Highlighting the party’s approach, he asserted, “The UPPL model of politics has been accepted by all. People of Bodoland no longer want violence. UPPL has been successful in ensuring peace, harmony and resolving land and livelihood issues. That is why this time, people will not think beyond UPPL. We are on course to form the government with a clear majority.”

On Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia and Chief Minister’s claim that BJP will secure majority and control BTC, Boro remarked, “Every party makes such claims during elections. But we have been with the people for the last five years—during floods, storms and times of hardship. We understand the people’s pulse better.”
