Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, inaugurated the Departmental Summit on 'National Ayush Mission and Capacity Building in States' at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. V. K. Paul, Member of NITI Aayog, and Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush.
Jadhav emphasized the Government's steadfast commitment to developing state-specific frameworks and comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to strengthen the integration of Ayush healthcare with modern systems. He highlighted the transformative progress under the National Ayush Mission since 2014, including the establishment of 12,500 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and the launch of Indian Public Health Standards for Ayush facilities, aimed at ensuring quality and uniformity nationwide.
A significant announcement made was the institutionalization of Ayurveda Day on September 23 each year, with the theme for this year being Ayurveda for People and Planet, promoting Ayurvedic wellness alongside ecological sustainability. Shri Jadhav also inaugurated the ‘Ayurvidya Advanced Centre’ at AIIA—a digital platform aimed at democratizing Ayurveda education and fostering innovation.
Dr. V. K. Paul underscored the vital role of Ayush in achieving the vision of Swasth Bharat and Viksit Bharat @2047, advocating for an integrated healthcare approach that combines traditional and modern methods to increase life expectancy and improve national health outcomes.
Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha highlighted the ‘Har Ghar Ayuryog’ initiative, blending Ayush and Yoga, as a key strategy to promote healthier lifestyles across India.
The two-day summit serves as a pivotal platform for states and union territories to share grassroots insights and collaboratively enhance the implementation of the National Ayush Mission, reinforcing a holistic, inclusive healthcare system for the nation’s future.
