Guwahati (Assam), 03 September (HS): Inspector General of BSF Guwahati Frontier, Sukhdev Raj, concluded a three-day inspection of border outposts along the India-Bangladesh international border, reviewing operational preparedness and the overall security situation.
According to a statement from the PRO of BSF Guwahati Frontier, the IG interacted with Commandants of various battalions, who briefed him on measures taken to combat cross-border crimes and operational challenges in the border areas of Assam and West Bengal.
During the visit, BSF troops of the 138th Battalion carried out a successful operation, seizing 43 gold biscuits weighing 5.017 kg, valued at approximately ₹5.20 crore in the market.
The IG also met young soldiers and officers deployed at the border, appreciating their vigilance, professionalism, and commitment to national security. He underlined that the seizure highlights BSF’s determination to curb cross-border smuggling and safeguard the integrity of the nation’s borders.
