Dhubri (Assam), 03 September (HS): A father-son duo was arrested after police recovered a handmade pistol during a raid in Sonakhuli area under Golakganj police station in Dhubri district.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by acting officer Devajit Kalita raided the house of Hamid Ali (64) alias Dhulla in Halakura’s Sonakhuli, police confirmed on Wednesday. During the operation, the team seized the pistol and apprehended Hamid Ali along with his son, Majnu Ali (30).

Both have been taken into custody for interrogation. According to police sources, the duo has long been suspected of involvement in the illegal drug trade in the region.
