Kanpur,
03 Sept (HS): Two cops, including the SHO, and many others have been
charged for allegedly taking a woman's property, stealing valuables, and
abusing her family members, according to authorities on Wednesday. According to
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Satyajit Gupta, a case has been filed at
Chakeri police station against SHO Santosh Shukla, Sanigawan police outpost
in-charge Ankit Khatana, two builders -- Yogi and Dharmendra Yadav, and
approximately 40 unidentified people under various sections of the Bharatiya
Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for dacoity, rioting, assault, vandalism, theft, and
criminal trespass.
Sangeeta
Jaiswal, a resident of Chandranagar in Lal Bangla, said that Shukla and his
colleagues forcibly turned over her disputed land to competitors Sujeel and
Abhishek Vashney on March 29. Despite the fact that the case is being tried in
both the High Court and the Fast Track Court (Senior Division). Jaiswal said
that roughly 30-40 individuals, assisted by police, destroyed the gate and
boundary walls of her property, attacked her relatives, robbed gold worth
nearly Rs 6 lakh, and took away valuables worth over Rs 1.5 crore in
trucks. Phones and a laptop were also
stolen, she claimed.
When
we objected, they beat us severely and even falsified our medical records. Instead of taking our complaint, they charged
us with breach of peace, she claimed, citing CCTV evidence of the event. According
to the DCP, a FIR has been filed in response to the woman's allegation, and an
investigation is now underway.
