Lucknow, 27 Sept (HS): The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS)

has detained two people in connection with a bogus Aadhaar card case and

remanded them in police custody for seven days, kicking off on Saturday. The defendants are suspected of generating

Aadhaar cards with fraudulent papers.

The detained were identified by the Varanasi section of the Uttar

Pradesh ATS as Talib Ansari of Saharanpur and Salman Ansari of Ghaziabad. They were apprehended after receiving

information regarding the syndicate's actions.

According to officials, fake documents were used to create Aadhaar cards

for Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Nepalese, and Rohingya. The ATS probe indicated that service centers

in numerous districts, including Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Saharanpur, Mau, Auraiya,

Murshidabad (West Bengal), Kolkata, Delhi-NCR, Lakhisarai, and Katihar, were

participating in the fraudulent Aadhaar card gang.
