Hyderabad, September 25 (HS): A 38-year-old man undergoing treatment at a private de-addiction and rehabilitation centre in Hyderabad was murdered by two fellow inmates after a quarrel, police said on Thursday.

The victim, a native of Andhra Pradesh, had been receiving treatment at the facility for the past eight months. On Wednesday afternoon, two inmates—admitted about a month ago, hailing from Nalgonda district in Telangana and Barkas in Hyderabad—allegedly attacked him with sticks and a nail cutter during an altercation.

Police officials said the men often quarreled over minor issues. In the latest clash, the accused struck the victim on the forehead and face. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

A murder case has been registered at Miyapur Police Station, and the accused have been taken into custody.
