Etawah, 25 Sept (HS): An
autorickshaw drove into a stalled truck in Uttar Pradesh's Etawah on Thursday,
killing two ladies and injuring six others, according to authorities. According
to SSP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, the accident occurred at Korikuan village
along the Agra-Etawah road. The autorickshaw was transporting passengers from
Raipura village in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind to a programme in Agra district when
it crashed with the truck, he added. The
victims have been named as Anita Devi (50), of Raipura village in Bhind, and
Viranshree (55), of Chakrapura village in Bhind. The SSP said that both died on the spot. The
collision injured six passengers, who were taken to the district hospital.
Dr Rahul from the district hospital said that five
of the injured, including three ladies, were taken to the Saifai PGI hospital
due to their critical condition. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem
examination, and an investigation is currently underway, according to police.
