Guwahati (Assam), 25 September (HS): The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the death of music icon Zubeen Garg will now comprise nine members instead of the earlier announced ten. Assam DGP released the revised list, excluding DSP Parimita Sarkar of Nagon, who was initially included.

Parimita Sarkar, known to be a close associate and former classmate of Sandipan Garg, was dropped after widespread criticism erupted over her inclusion. Public outrage intensified as Sandipan was reportedly present with Zubeen Garg at the time of his death.

The SIT was earlier announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to ensure a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s demise.
