24 Sept (HS): In a resolute endeavour to advance women’s health and holistic

well-being, Central Hospital, NCR Prayagraj, successfully conducted a

comprehensive Mental Health Awareness and Counselling Programme as part of the

Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan. This landmark initiative was held under

the visionary leadership of Dr S.K. Handoo, Medical Director, whose unwavering

commitment to preventive healthcare continues to elevate institutional

standards of excellence.

The

event commenced with an insightful inaugural address by Dr Usha S.P. Yadav,

Nodal Officer, who underscored the pivotal role of early detection and mental

wellness in safeguarding the health of women. She remarked, “A healthy woman is

the cornerstone of a healthy family. When we invest in women’s health, we

invest in the future of our communities.”

The

programme was presided over by Dr Kalpana Mishra, ACHD, and graced by the

presence of Dr Reena Agarwal, ACMS. It

garnered enthusiastic participation from female staff members of the hospital

as well as women beneficiaries from the Indian Railways. The session was both

enlightening and interactive, serving as an impactful platform for education,

dialogue, and proactive mental health screening.

Expert

perspectives were shared by Dr Rohit Kumar, ADMO, who delivered a compelling

session on the significance of mental health awareness and counselling. His

address provided participants with valuable insights and practical approaches

towards emotional resilience and mental well-being. The counselling segment

witnessed active engagement, with several individuals availing themselves of

one-on-one support.

The

programme recorded a total participation of 189 attendees, reflecting a growing

awareness and openness towards mental health dialogue within the community.
