Delhi, 24 September (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the World Food India 2025 on September 25 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, where he is also scheduled to address the gathering at around 6:15 PM. The four-day event, running till September 28, will spotlight India’s achievements in food processing, sustainable food practices, and the growing market for nutritious and organic products.
As part of the event, the government will extend credit-linked support worth more than ₹770 crore to around 26,000 beneficiaries for micro projects valued at over ₹2,510 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme. This initiative is expected to significantly boost India’s micro food processing sector and strengthen the ecosystem for small entrepreneurs.
The 2025 edition promises to be one of the largest platforms for global engagement in food processing with participation from 21 countries, including France, Germany, Iran, Australia, South Korea, Denmark, Italy, Thailand, Indonesia, the USA, and China. More than 150 international participants and 100,000 visitors are expected to take part in India’s premier food industry showcase.
The event will feature CEO roundtables, technical sessions, exhibitions, and B2B, B2G, and G2G meetings, providing a robust opportunity for networking and investment collaborations. Fourteen thematic pavilions will highlight sectors ranging from sustainability and net-zero practices in food processing to plant-based foods, nutraceuticals, specialty foods, and India’s emerging pet food industry.
According to the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, the event reaffirms India’s commitment to becoming a global hub for food processing by leveraging innovation, sustainable practices, and international partnerships.
