With the Durga Puja season beginning in Kolkata, a festive atmosphere has prevailed. To facilitate devotees and passengers, Kolkata Metro is launching special services this year, as it does every year. The metro will run all night on Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami. The Metro Authority announced the detailed schedule on Tuesday.
On the Blue Line, from Dakshineswar to Shaheed Khudiram, the metro will run from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Panchami. Services will be available from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Shashthi. Trains will run every 6-7 minutes from 1:00 PM to 4:00 AM on Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami. On Dashami, trains will run every 8 minutes from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Meanwhile, on the Green Line, from Sector V to Howrah Maidan, metro services will be available from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm in the up direction and from 7:44 am to 11:16 pm in the down direction on Panchami. On Shashthi, the metro will run from 9 am to 11:28 pm in the up direction and from 9:02 am to 11:20 pm in the down direction. On Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami, metro services will be available from 1:30 pm to 4:06 am in the up direction and from 1:34 pm to 4:18 am in the down direction. On Dashami, services will continue from 1 pm to 10 pm in the up direction and from 1:32 pm to 10:32 pm in the down direction.
This special arrangement by the Kolkata Metro during the four main days of the puja will allow passengers to visit the pandals throughout the night without any hindrance.
