Prayagraj,

24 Sept (HS): A press conference was held in the Chandrashekhar Azad Circuit

House auditorium, chaired by BJP Metropolitan President Sanjay Gupta, regarding

the GST Reforms 2025. Addressing reporters on the occasion, Uttar Pradesh's

Cabinet Minister for Jal Shakti and Minister-in-Charge Swatantra Dev said that

the entire country has received the gift of GST from the first day of Navratri.

This is an important step towards next-generation GST reforms under the

leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Sitharaman. He

expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance

Minister Nirmala Paswan for this. He stated that the GST reforms have

implemented a simple two-rate structure of 5 percent and 18 percent, while the

rate on luxury and opulence goods remains at 40 percent. These reforms will

reduce household expenses, empower farmers, and boost businesses. The public

will receive relief on essential household items such as milk, cheese, shampoo,

soap, bicycles, and baby products. Farmers will benefit from the five percent

GST on tractor tires, pesticides, and irrigation equipment. In the healthcare

sector, treatment will become affordable for all. He stated that GST was

launched on July 1, 2017, with the principle of one nation, one tax, one

market. It has now been reformed. Following the implementation of GST,

India's indirect tax collection has grown exponentially, from Rs. 5.44 lakh

crore in 2014 to a record Rs. 22.08 lakh crore in 2024, representing a historic

increase of over 350 percent. He stated that the revenue generated is

dedicatedly returned to the nation through schools, hospitals, and other

amenities that facilitate daily life. He further stated that the GST reform

will prove to be an economic milestone in the history of New India, and that

the dream of one nation, one tax, one market is being realized.

Lakhs of jobs have been created in many sectors, education and health sectors

have flourished, and bribery at checkpoints has been eliminated, directly

benefiting the general public. He stated that the GST reform 2025 represents a

revolutionary step in meeting the nation's needs, facilitating businesses and

protecting the public's finances.

In

GST reform 2025, 90% of the items have been reduced from 28% to 18% and in

normal rates GST has been reduced from 12% to 5%, which means the common poor

will get direct benefit from this and 33 types of life saving medicines have

been exempted from GST.
