Gadchiroli, 24 Sep (HS): Six dreaded Naxalites with
a total prize of Rs 62 lakhs on their head, surrendered in the presence of Maharashtra’s
Director General of Police, Rashmi Shukla. Two of them were Divisional
Committee Members, one Commander, two PPCM, and one ACM-level activist.
Those surrendered include DVCM Bhimanna alias
Vyankatesh Kulmethe, his wife DVCM Vimalakka Sadmek, both had Rs 16 lakh prize
money on their heads. The others have been identified as Kavita alias Shanti
Majji (Commander), Nagesh alias Aytal Madavi (PPCM), Sameer Aytu Potam (PPCM),
and Navata alias Surekha Madavi (ACM).
With the joint efforts of the Gadchiroli Police and
CRPF, 40 Maxalites have surrendered so far in 2025.
The police officers involved in the mission were
felicitated by DGP Shukla. The surrendered Naxalites will get financial
assistance for their rehabilitation. The families of two villagers killed by
Naxalites were given cheques of Rs 5 lakh each on the occasion.
