Kanpur,

24 Sept (HS): Providing nutritious and adequate food to children is a priority

for the government. Pure and tasty food is essential for children's physical

and intellectual development. The government is continuously taking steps to

improve quality in this direction. Recently, the conversion cost of food has

been increased, which will further strengthen nutritional levels. Sandeep

Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Basic Education in the Uttar

Pradesh government, stated this on Wednesday.

Under

the PM Nutrition and Midday Meal Scheme, a groundbreaking ceremony was held

today for the construction of the Akshaya Patra Foundation's centralized

kitchen in Kanpur. The foundation was honored on this occasion. Currently, the

Akshaya Patra Foundation provides midday meals to approximately 10,000 children

in the Shastri Nagar and Kidwai Nagar development blocks of Kanpur. After the

construction of the new kitchen, this number will increase to 100,000 children

daily.

Currently,

the Akshaya Patra Foundation operates six kitchens in the state. This number

will be further expanded in the future. During the event, a Memorandum of

Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Akshaya Patra Foundation and Nayara

Energy in the presence of the Education Minister. Nayara Energy will provide

financial support to the Akshaya Patra Foundation under its CSR initiative.

On

this occasion, Divisional Assistant Education Director Dr. Santosh Kumar Rai,

Basic Education Officer Surjeet Singh, CSR Head of Nayara Energy Achintya

Singh, National President of Akshaya Patra Foundation Bharat Sabhadas, CMO

Dhananjay Ganju along with Block Education Officers, District Coordinators, a
