Cachar (Assam), 24 September (HS): In a major anti-narcotics operation, Cachar Police seized drugs worth ₹90 crore and arrested two traffickers. Acting on specific inputs, police intercepted a Bolero pickup (AS-01PC-8976) near Dholakhal border outpost under Dholai Police Station and recovered three lakh YABA tablets hidden in a secret chamber of the vehicle.

The arrested traffickers have been identified as Samuel Lhungdim (27) and Andy Kuki (27), both from Manipur. Police said the consignment was brought from Churachandpur district of Manipur.

During a press conference at Cachar Police headquarters, SP Nomal Mahatta confirmed that the tablets, packed in 30 black polythene packets, tested positive for methamphetamine.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the successful operation, stating that jail will be the only destination for drug traffickers. Assam Police has been intensifying its crackdown on narcotics trafficking across the state in recent months.
