Indore, September 14 (H.S.): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday unveiled ‘Parikrama Kripa Saar’, a book authored by Madhya Pradesh Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel. The event, organized by the Narmada Khand Seva Sansthan at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore, was marked by the presence of several dignitaries including Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and spiritual leader Swami Ishwaranand.
Before the formal unveiling, Minister Patel extended a traditional welcome to Dr. Bhagwat by presenting him with a painting of Mother Narmada. The ceremony began with Dr. Bhagwat lighting a ceremonial lamp. Among the key attendees were Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla, BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal, former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, senior BJP leaders Vishwas Sarang, Kailash Vijayvargiya, Chaitanya Kashyap, Rakesh Shukla, Tulsi Ram Silawat, Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, MLA Golu Shukla, and several other public representatives.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Patel underlined the spiritual significance of the moment. He said the participation of eminent leaders at the event would inspire and guide the devotees of the Narmada Parikrama. Patel also shared his personal experiences of the pilgrimage, recalling that he had initially resisted publishing the book as he did not wish to “commercialize” the sacred Narmada River. He recounted two defining moments of his journey: the 2005 parikrama, and his tenure as Union Minister of Culture, during which friends urged him to publish his experiences. Despite filming a rare 72-hour Narmada pilgrimage, Patel held firm that the river must never be commodified.
In his address, he declared, “Narmada is our mother. Our rivers are our heritage and our lifeline. This book release is not just a formality. Every rupee earned through it will go towards cow protection and in service of Narmada Parikrama devotees.”
The program continues with spiritual and cultural sessions following the book launch.
