London, September 11(HS): Prince Harry and King Charles III held their first face-to-face meeting in nearly 20 months at Clarence House, the King’s official London residence, on Wednesday. The private meeting, confirmed by Buckingham Palace, lasted approximately 50 minutes over tea and is viewed as a potential first step toward healing the long-standing rift between father and son.

The Duke of Sussex, who has lived in California since 2020, was in the UK for several charity events. This visit marks his first opportunity for a personal reunion with the King since Harry’s emotional BBC interview in May expressing hope for reconciliation. The last time they met was following the King's cancer diagnosis in February 2024. Despite the meeting, there have been no signs of a similar reunion between Harry and his brother Prince William during the visit.

The King had traveled from Balmoral Castle earlier the same day and maintained a busy schedule, including official duties and meetings. After the private tea, no further comments were made by Buckingham Palace or Harry’s representatives regarding the nature of the discussions. This encounter is seen as a significant gesture in attempting to bridge deep familial divides within the British royal family amid ongoing public and media speculation.
