Pune, 10 Sept (HS): A prisoner in Yerwada jail was

brutally attacked by two others using a nail and punches on the chest. The

dispute between the three erupted over the issue relating to sleeping in a

barrack.

The victim, Sanjay Bhikaji Kapde (52) was attacked

by Bharat Vishal Rathod and Muhammad Gulab Sheikh, Senior Jail Officer

Revannath Kanade said. Kapde is being treated in the jail hospital. He was

injured in the neck by Rathod and Sheikh.

Both the accused, Rathod and Sheikh, are in the custody of the Magistrate. Further action has been initiated by the jail authorities.
