New Delhi, Sept 10 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the depth of India–US relations on Tuesday, describing the two nations as “close friends and natural partners” while expressing optimism that ongoing trade negotiations would further unlock the vast potential of the bilateral partnership.

India and the US are close friends and natural partners. I am confident that our trade negotiations will pave the way for unlocking the limitless potential of the India-US partnership. Our teams are working to conclude these discussions at the earliest. I am also looking forward to speaking with President Trump. We will work together to secure a brighter, more prosperous future for both our people,PM Modi wrote on X.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came in response to a social media message from US President Donald Trump, who had earlier tweeted about advancing economic cooperation and reinforcing the shared strategic vision between Washington and India.

Sharing a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, I am pleased to announce that India, and the United States of America, are continuing negotiations to address the Trade Barriers between our two Nations. I look forward to speaking with my very good friend, Prime Minister Modi, in the upcoming weeks.I feel certain that there will be no difficulty in coming to a successful conclusion for both of our Great Countries! he added

Reaffirming India’s commitment to a strong and mutually beneficial economic relationship,PM Modi said he was confident that the trade talks, being pursued by both delegations, would soon be concluded. He noted that the agreements under discussion were not merely about reducing barriers but about shaping a new framework for closer integration of the world’s two largest democracies.

“Our teams are working with great urgency,”PM Modi said, emphasizing that the outcome of these efforts would broaden the horizon of opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs, and citizens from both nations. He added that he looks forward to an upcoming conversation with President Trump to further solidify cooperation.

With a forward-looking note, PM Modi stressed that India and the US would “work together to secure a brighter, more prosperous future for both our people,” positioning the partnership as a pillar of global economic stability and democratic resilience.
