Pune, 10 Sept (HS): The chairperson of the 99th

Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan will be elected on Sunday, during a

meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Mahamandal in Pune. The dates of the All

India literary meet are expected to be decided during the meeting. The meet is

likely to be held in Satara in the first week of January 2026.

Nineteen representatives, three each of the

Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad, Mumbai Marathi Sahitya Sangh, Marathwada Sahitya

Parishad, and Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh, and one each of associate members from

Brihanmaharashtra, will attend the meeting. The present Chairperson of the

Sahitya Sammelan, Dr Tara Bhawalkar, will remain present.

The chairperson will be elected unanimously from the

names suggested by the member organisations. The office of the literary

federation is at the Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad for three years. The

Parishad, thus, will lead the 99th, 100th and 101st

literary meets.
