Dehradun, August 9(HS): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced swift relief measures following the recent cloudburst and landslide in Dharali, Uttarkashi. The state government will provide an immediate assistance of ₹5 lakh each to families who lost members or whose homes were completely destroyed.

To oversee comprehensive rehabilitation, restoration, and sustainable livelihood efforts, a three-member committee led by the Revenue Secretary has been established. The committee will submit a preliminary report within a week to chart a long-term recovery plan for the local community.

Chief Minister Dhami assured that the government stands with every affected citizen and will ensure fast and effective relief and rehabilitation. Rescue operations in Dharali, Harshil, Jhala, Bagoli, and nearby areas have been completed, with people relocated to safety. Essential relief supplies, including food, clothes, and emergency lighting, have been distributed.

Assessment for compensation related to property and agricultural losses has begun, with distribution of funds expected within the next two to three days. Authorities have also restored electricity and network connectivity in the affected villages, and road repairs are underway to facilitate movement.

Community kitchens are providing continuous meals and essential needs to impacted families, ensuring ongoing support throughout the recovery process. The Chief Minister emphasized that the government’s priority remains the safety and well-being of all disaster-affected families.
