New Delhi, August 9 (HS): A tragic incident occurred in southeast Delhi’s Jaitpur area on Saturday when a wall collapsed due to continuous rainfall, killing seven people and leaving one injured.
According to police, eight people were initially injured in the mishap. Five of them were rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, where four succumbed to their injuries. The remaining three were admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where all three died during treatment. One survivor, identified as Hashibul, is currently undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital.
The deceased have been identified as three men — Shabibul (30), Rabibul (30), and Muttu Ali (45); two women — Rubina (25) and Dolly (25); and two young girls — Rukhsana (6) and Haseena (7).
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collapse, while heavy rains continue to lash the region.
