New Delhi, Aug 9(HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid homage to the freedom fighters of the historic Kakori incident on its 100th anniversary, lauding their courage and patriotism.

Remembering the 1925 event as a symbol of public resentment against colonial exploitation, the Prime Minister said the revolutionaries were angered by the misuse of people’s money to further foreign interests. He assured that the valour of those who took part in Kakori would remain etched in the nation’s memory.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to building a strong and prosperous India, Modi said their dreams of freedom and self-reliance continue to guide the nation’s progress.

In a post on X, PM Modi said;

“On this day, a hundred years ago, the courage shown by patriotic Indians at Kakori highlighted the resentment among people against colonial rule. They were angry at the manner in which people’s money was being used to further colonial exploitation. Their valour will always be remembered by the people of India. We will keep working to fulfil their dreams for a strong and prosperous India.”
