Lucknow,
08 Aug (HS): The Uttar Pradesh branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) plans
to conduct a nationwide 'Tiranga Yatra' campaign in response to the SP's 'PDA
Pathshala' ahead of Independence Day. The event takes place from August 10 to 15, and is considered as a
direct response to Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav's
much-discussed 'PDA Pathshala.'
According to BJP insiders, formal instructions
have been sent to regional leaders, district-level in-charges, and presidents
to hold flag-hoisting ceremonies at all voting booths. Children will actively engage in the national
celebrations, with the goal of serving as a symbolic opposition to the SP's
appeal to younger groups through its PDA Pathshalas program. The BJP has set an
ambitious objective of hoisting at least 500 Indian flags in each of the
state's 1.6 lakh polling booths. The
campaign is being led by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and the
party's women's section. A senior party
official stated that this project will be prioritized in places where the SP's
PDA Pathshalas have already been implemented. We will counter the
opposition's caste-based politics with our message of nationalism, he
said, adding that BJYM teams will reach out to youngsters in schools and
universities across the state.
Furthermore,
the internal message provided to BJP leaders emphasized the success of
'Operation Sindoor', a military reaction launched in May in response to the
April 22 terrorist assault in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people. Avneesh Tyagi,
BJP's state spokesman, stated that for BJP workers, the nation always comes
first. The success of Operation Sindoor
serves as proof. Just like PM Modi
responded to Pakistan's terrorism, any traitor, whether inside or outside
India, would be dealt with appropriately.
This initiative by the BJP came soon after SP
leader Farhad Alam established a PDA Pathshala in Saharanpur. According to reports from the site, youngsters
were taught an alphabet series that includes 'A' for Akhilesh Yadav, 'B' for
Babasaheb Ambedkar, 'C' for Chaudhary Charan Singh, 'D' for Dimple Yadav, and
'M' for Mulayam Singh Yadav.
The BJP had previously responded harshly, with
state president Bhupendra Chaudhary labeling the campaign as socialist
brainwashing and accused the SP of poisoning young children's minds with
political messages.
Political
observers believe that the BJP's intention to involve youngsters in its Tiranga
campaign is a pragmatic reply. The endeavor aims to shift the party's
image—from one focused on caste to one oriented on nationalism and
patriotism. Furthermore, the goal of
hanging flags at each booth is regarded as a step toward strengthening the
BJP's extremely detailed booth-level election campaign.
