Dehradun, August 7 (H.S.): A generator set has been dispatched to Dharali from Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) via a Chinook helicopter to facilitate rescue efforts in Uttarkashi district. To further aid the situation, two 63 kVA generator sets are scheduled to be airlifted to Sukrshar.

On Thursday, a 125 kVA generator set was flown from Dehradun airport to the impacted Dharali-Harshil area to help restore temporary electricity supply. Additionally, three more 125 kVA generator sets are on standby at Dehradun airport for immediate deployment. UPCL's Managing Director Anil Kumar emphasized the team's commitment to restoring electricity swiftly, following state directives. The priority is providing essential services and relief materials promptly.

Another two 63 kVA generator sets are slated for airlift to Harshil soon, aiming to meet basic needs and support electrical restoration. UPCL’s regional team, led by the Director (Operation), is working tirelessly even under difficult conditions to install poles, pull wires, and set up transformers for temporary power. Consumers can report electrical emergencies to UPCL's helpline, as the corporation is dedicated to assisting the public during this crisis.
