Delhi, 4 August (H.S.): President of the Philippines Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. set to undertake a State Visit to India from August 4-8 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Accompanied by First Lady Madame Louise Araneta Marcos and a high-level delegation, including cabinet ministers and business representatives, this marks President Marcos’s first visit to India since assuming office.

Key events include bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Modi on August 5 and a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu. The visit highlights the strong diplomatic relations established in November 1949, which cover varied domains such as trade, defense, maritime cooperation, and digital technologies.

India's engagement with the Philippines is a key element of its 'Act East' Policy and corresponds with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties. This State Visit presents a crucial opportunity for both nations to enhance bilateral cooperation and address regional and international issues of mutual interest.
