Delhi, 4 August (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Kartavya Bhavan at Kartavya Path in Delhi on August 6 at approximately 12:15 PM, followed by a public address at 6:30 PM. This event signifies a key step towards the Government's commitment to modern, efficient, and citizen-centric governance. Kartavya Bhavan - 03 is integral to the Central Vista's transformation and marks the beginning of a series of Common Central Secretariat buildings to enhance administrative efficiency.
This initiative supports the government's administrative reform agenda by co-locating ministries and encouraging modern infrastructure, thereby improving inter-ministerial coordination and expediting policy implementation. Currently, many ministries operate from outdated buildings, impacting efficiency. The new facilities aim to lower maintenance costs, boost productivity, enhance employee well-being, and provide better service delivery.
The state-of-the-art Kartavya Bhavan - 03 encompasses approximately 1.5 lakh square meters, featuring two basements and seven floors. It will accommodate various ministries, including Home Affairs, External Affairs, and Rural Development. The building's infrastructure emphasizes modern governance, with IT-ready workspaces, secure access controls, and advanced surveillance systems, striving for a GRIHA-4 sustainability rating.
Sustainability initiatives include double-glazed façades, rooftop solar panels, efficient HVAC systems, and rainwater harvesting. It operates as a zero-discharge campus, reusing wastewater and promoting waste management. Energy efficiency measures are integrated, targeting a 30% reduction in energy use through smart technology, energy-saving lighting, and solar power generation exceeding 5.34 lakh units annually. Overall, this project aims to foster collaboration and innovation within a modern administrative framework.
