police arrested seven criminals in three separate encounters on Saturday night.
During the encounter, five criminals were injured by the bullets fired by the
police while two were caught by the police during combing operation. All the
injured criminals have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Among these
criminals, two criminals used to steal vehicles from Delhi NCR and sell them in
states like Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat etc.
ACP Link Road Shweta Kumari Yadav said
on Sunday that SWAT team and Link Road police jointly arrested Farooq Salmani,
resident of Sondha Modinagar and Shahnawaz alias Golu, resident of Begumabad
Modinagar after a face-to-face encounter near Surya Nagar railway bridge.
During the encounter, both the criminals were injured by the bullet fired by
the police. Two pistols, two Brezza cars with fake number plates and cartridges
have been recovered from the possession of the criminals. On interrogation, the
criminals told the police that they were going to hide the stolen vehicles.
Then during police checking, they had an encounter with the police and were
arrested. She told that these people used to steal vehicles and take them to
Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat and sell them on the basis of fake papers.
The second encounter took place in Kavi
Nagar police station area. ACP Bhaskar Verma said that on August 25, the
miscreants broke into the house of businessman Achal Singhal in Rajnagar and
looted two mobile phones and other items. Since then, the police was searching
for them. On Sunday night, the police arrested three miscreants during an
encounter. Among them, Guddu Saifi, a resident of Amroha, and a miscreant named
Hem Singh were injured, while Monu Sharma was arrested by the police after
combing. The police recovered two pistols, cartridges and a Swift Dzire from their
possession. Madhuban Bapudham police also arrested two miscreants during an
encounter during wee hours. Ravi was injured by a police bullet, while Raju was
arrested by the police after combing. These people had entered Dhan Bahadur's
house in Rajnagar on August 25 and looted it.
