Delhi, 31 August (H.S.): Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty bowed out with a hard-fought bronze after a tense semifinal clash at the BWF World Championships 2025 on August 30 in Paris. The Indian duo battled fiercely against China's Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yi, leveling the match by winning the second game 21-18 after dropping the first 19-21. However, the Chinese pair dominated the decider 21-12 to seal their spot in the final.
The match lasted over an hour, with Satwik-Chirag showing moments of brilliance but ultimately falling short against the relentless flick serve and aggressive play of Chen and Liu. This bronze is their second at the World Championships, continuing India's medal streak in the tournament since 2011 and marking another proud moment for Indian badminton .
