Lucknow, 31 Aug (HS): A new revelation has come to light
in the investigation of students who took admission in MBBS in government
medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh by submitting fake certificates of freedom
fighter dependent sub-category. The investigation has revealed that the
district magistrates meticulously signed the certificates. Along with stamping,
the serial number was also recorded. A claim was made to make strong
arrangements during online NEET counseling. Checklists were made at every
level, but the racket involved in rigging the counseling made inroads this time
too. The special thing is that till now no irregularities have been found in
caste and other types of certificates, but a fresh investigation has also
started for these.
71 students had also taken admission: The number of
freedom fighter dependents is less. Hence, less attention is paid to this. This
year, the racket of getting admission done through fraudulent means focused on
this certificate. This is the reason why 79 students submitted the certificates
of freedom fighter dependent sub-category. Out of these, 71 had also taken
admission. Now the admissions of 64 have been cancelled. Investigation of
others is going on. In the report sent to the Directorate General of Medical
Education and Training, the District Magistrates have clearly said that their signatures
in the certificates are fake.
The certificates have been issued on different dates.
They have also been stamped. Those who have made the fake certificates have
kept in mind that who is the District Magistrate in the concerned district on
the date on which the certificate is being issued? They have made the signature
accordingly.
Those who took admission last year will also be checked:
Under NEET UG counseling, the certificates of students who took admission last
year on the basis of freedom fighter dependent certificate will also be
checked. On Saturday, the process of sorting out the certificates of such
students has started. These will be sent district wise.
Seats included in the next phase: The seats allotted to
those who submitted fake freedom fighter dependent certificates have been
cancelled. These seats are being included in the next phase of counselling. It
has been provided in the counselling rules that if a student's certificate is
found to be fake or forged, his/her admission will be cancelled. The candidate
will be fully responsible for this.
Every certificate will be verified: Till now the
admission process was completed after verification of certificates at the nodal
centers. Then the certificates were sent to the District Magistrate's office
for verification. After the certificates of freedom fighter dependents were
found to be fake, now the caste and other certificates will be verified
phase-wise. As soon as the counseling of each phase is completed, the
certificates of the students will be sent to the District Magistrate of the
concerned district.
District-wise report will be filed: The Directorate of
Medical Education has given information about the students who have submitted
fake certificates and has said that further action will be taken. Now, a report
will be filed against the students who have committed fraud at the level of
District Magistrate of all the districts. The concerned District Magistrates
have also started action in this direction. Additional District Magistrate of
Ballia Anil Kumar said that the names of 12 students were sent to him, in which
the certificate of one student was found to be correct, while the certificates
of 11 were found to be fake. Action has been started against all of them.
Eye on minority quota seats too: During last year's
counseling, many students had taken admission under minority quota by becoming
Jain, Parsi, Christian etc. When the matter came to light, action was taken
against private colleges. This year too, special monitoring is being done on
students taking admission under minority quota. Their certificates will also be
sent to the District Magistrate of the respective districts.
Report should be filed immediately: Former District Judge
BD Naqvi says that in the case of submitting fake certificates, a report should
be filed against the accused immediately. Such people should be arrested
immediately so that the entire racket can be known. This is a serious matter.
This is not only a case of forgery but also a case of fraud, because the
students who submitted fake certificates usurped the rights of other students.
It is a different matter that the matter was caught in time and the seats were
saved.
Strict action will be taken against the accused: In this
case, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that instructions have been
given to take strict action against those who take admission with fake certificates.
Action has been started at the level of the concerned District Magistrates. A
team will also be formed at the state level, which will ensure that strict
action is taken against those who submit fake certificates. If any racket is
active by deceiving these students, then it will also be exposed.
