Chennai, 29 August (H.S.) : A woman was arrested for attempting to burgle a home in Chennai by using chilli powder to incapacitate the occupant. The incident occurred when the victim, Sukumar, questioned the woman's identity and asked her to leave his home. In response, she allegedly threw a handful of chilli powder directly into his face.
The police took swift action and apprehended the woman, identified as Mallika. Details about the motive behind her actions and the items she attempted to steal are yet to be disclosed. The authorities are currently investigating the incident.
This incident bears some resemblance to other cases where chilli powder has been used as a weapon. For instance, in a separate case in Muzaffarpur, a man was arrested for torturing his wife by inserting chilli powder into her private parts and branding her with a hot iron over suspicions of an extramarital affair.
In another incident in Telangana, a man was brutally murdered by his former lover and her husband, who threw chilli powder in his eyes and beat him to death with sticks. These incidents highlight the need for authorities to take stringent measures against such violent crimes.
