Jammu, August 29 (HS) : Authorities on Friday reaffirmed that the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remains closed due to substantial damage between Jakheni and Chanaini. Travelers are urged to refrain from using the highway until repairs are fully completed and the roadway is safe for passage.

The advisory stresses disregarding rumors about the highway’s condition. In the meantime, traffic is flowing smoothly on the Mughal Road and the Srinagar-Sonmarg-Gumri Road as previously advised. Per NHIDCL instructions, the Sinthan route is open only to light vehicles.

Officials have called on motorists to practice strict lane discipline and warned that overtaking could trigger traffic jams.
